By downloading, installing or using the Barely application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms please do not use the App. These Terms of Use apply to all users of the App on iOS and Android.
Barely is a UK cost of living simulator published by Barely Studios. The App is provided free of charge and is intended for educational and entertainment purposes only. It does not constitute financial, legal or professional advice of any kind.
Barely Studios grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms of Use. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by Barely Studios.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, sublicense, reverse engineer or create derivative works based on the App or any part of it without our prior written consent.
You may use the App solely for its intended purpose — to simulate and explore UK cost of living scenarios. You must use the App in accordance with applicable laws and these Terms of Use.
You must not use the App to engage in any unlawful activity; attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the App or its underlying code; reproduce, duplicate or copy the App or any part of it for commercial purposes; misrepresent the App's outputs or figures as personalised financial advice; or interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the App.
The App, including its name, design, content, code, figures, copy and branding, is the intellectual property of Barely Studios. All rights are reserved. Nothing in these Terms of Use grants you any right to use the Barely name, logo or branding without our prior written consent.
All salary figures, spending averages and tax calculations within the App are based on publicly available UK data sources as of April 2026. Whilst we make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy, figures are estimates and may not reflect individual circumstances. We do not warrant that any information within the App is complete, accurate or up to date. Please refer to the Data Sources section within the App for full source information.
The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. Barely Studios makes no warranty that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of viruses or other harmful components. Your use of the App is at your sole risk.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Barely Studios shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of income, loss of data or any financial decisions made in reliance on the App's outputs.
Nothing in these Terms of Use excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
Future versions of the App may include affiliate links to third party websites and services. Barely Studios is not responsible for the content, accuracy or practices of any third party websites. We recommend you review the terms and privacy policies of any third party website you visit. The inclusion of a link does not imply endorsement by Barely Studios.
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Any changes will be published at barelyapp.co.uk/termsofuse and reflected in an updated version of the App. The date at the top of this document will indicate when it was last revised. Your continued use of the App following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
We reserve the right to suspend or discontinue the App or any part of it at any time without notice. These Terms of Use will continue to apply in respect of any prior use of the App.
These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
